Supporting Injured Workers in Lilydale & Bayswater North
Osteopathy & Exercise Psychology for injured workers
A workplace injury touches more than just the injured body part. It can shake your confidence, disrupt your routine, and leave you unsure about what comes next at work and at home.
At BDHH, our Osteopaths and Accredited Exercise Physiologists support injured workers through every stage of recovery. We treat the body as a whole, looking at the injury itself, how it’s affecting your movement and function, and what you need to get back to doing your job safely.
Our clinics in Lilydale and Bayswater North make it straightforward to access professional allied health care across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

What Recovery Looks Like at BDHH
No two workplace injuries are the same. Someone who’s strained their back on a building site has very different needs to a worker managing a repetitive strain injury from a desk job. That’s why we start every WorkCover case with a thorough assessment, looking at the injury itself, your job demands, and where you’re at physically right now.
Your Osteopath or Exercise Physiologist builds a treatment plan around your recovery, not a template. Hands-on osteopathic treatment addresses the underlying joint, muscle, and soft tissue damage, while exercise rehabilitation through our Exercise Physiology team helps rebuild strength, endurance, and work capacity over time.
Progress is tracked throughout, and we keep WorkCover insurers, employers, and case managers in the loop so there are no gaps in communication and no surprises.
Getting started early genuinely makes a difference to long-term outcomes. The sooner we can assess you, the sooner recovery gets moving.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
Some WorkCover claims require a Functional Capacity Evaluation, a formal assessment of what tasks a worker can safely perform.
An FCE looks at:
- Physical capacity and movement ability
- Tolerance for specific work tasks
- Strength, endurance, and postural demands
The results give insurers and employers clear, documented information to support return-to-work planning. Our clinicians provide professional FCE reports that are thorough, accurate, and written to support the next stage of rehabilitation.
Both our Lilydale and Bayswater North clinics can arrange FCE assessments.
Workplace & Ergonomic Assessments
Sometimes returning to work safely means taking a closer look at the environment you’re returning to.
Our team can assess your workstation or workplace setup and make practical recommendations, whether that involves adjusting how a task is performed, reviewing manual handling procedures, or identifying risks that could slow recovery or cause further injury.
❝ The goal is a sustainable return to work, not just a quick one.
Psychology Support at BDHH
Recovering from a workplace injury isn’t always just a physical process. If you’re finding the experience is affecting your mental health, confidence, or ability to cope day to day, our Clinical Psychologist is available at BDHH to provide support alongside your physical rehabilitation. Having psychology under the same roof means your care stays connected and nothing falls through the gaps.
