Latest research is teaching us as health professionals a lot about Vitamin D (actually a hormone) and how the sun actually is very beneficial for optimal health.

Dr. Joseph Mercola has some very insightful information well worth reading.  In a nutshell, Vitamin D is protective against at least 17 different cancers, is vital in preventing autism, ADHD, metabolic disorders, arthritis and a whole raft of illnesses.  So what is important?  Get sunshine for 15-30 minutes a day depending on the time of year and where you live.  Do not over do it.  Allow 48 hours for Vitamin D to be converted from the UVB rays, so use salt washes or water only to clean – you can use body washes in the private areas for hygiene purposes, but in particular sun on the torso, upper arms and legs is most beneficial for making Vitamin D.  Optimal levels are about 75, but some authors suggest levels at 120 will provide the most protection from disease.  Get some today.
